This luxurious 6 bed / 4 bath try-level Vail Mountain home offers incredible views of the mountains and is centrally located in West Vail. Enter the home through the top level two car garage or front entry door which leads to the mudroom (atop the stairs) to leave all your stuff after skiing the mountain. Down one flight are two bedrooms and a bath. Walk one more flight down to the spacious living area with fireplace, chef's kitchen, dining room, and Master Suite with its very own fireplace and private outdoor deck.
Sliding glass doors open off the living/dining area to spacious outdoor decks to dine, grill and relax amongst nature with mountain views and an outdoor fire pit perfect for sitting under the stars and making s'mores. Walk down another flight of stairs and you will find another family room w /fireplace, full kitchen, Master suite and 2 guest bedrooms + bathroom. Even a separate entrance to the bottom floor if you need to access it from the outside staircase. Perfect floor plan for two families!

The location
We are situated in beautiful West Vail just a block from the lovely Donovan Park where families have access to children's playground, soccer fields and a great place to bring your pooch. Only a 3 minute drive from Lionshead Village, 7 minute drive from Vail Village, and a block from the picturesque Gore Creek Trail and close to the City Market grocery store. In the summer months, walk or bike the 1.5 mile Gore Creek Trail into Lionshead or 3 miles into Vail Village. Along the way, you will spot several beaver dams and other natural wildlife. Or, if you'd rather let someone else do the driving, the Free Vail Town Bus has a stop that is right down the hill from the home.

Nothing beats Vail in the winter. It is truly a wonderland, from beginner slopes to the Back Bowls, the skiing and snowboarding are simply the best the United States has to offer.

Q: Is the Vail home ski-in/ski-out?
A:
No, but the free Town of Vail bus stops about one block down the hill at Matterhorn. Take the West Vail Red Line into town. It stops at Lionshead Plaza and the Vail Village Transportation Center, so you can get to both villages on the same bus. It does not stop in Downtown Lionshead. Remember to take the Red Line into town and not the Green. The Green Line will get you there, but it goes the long way. On the way back from the Vail Village Transportation Center or Lionshead Plaza, take the Green Line and not the Red.
Q: How many people does it sleep, and are there stairs?
A:
It sleeps 12 in 6 bedrooms with 4 baths. With two kitchens, two laundry rooms and a separate bottom-floor entrance, it's a natural fit for two families.
It's a tri-level mountain home, so expect several flights of stairs; it isn't a fit if you need step-free access.
Q: How far is it to Lionshead and Vail Village?
A:
Lionshead is about a 3-minute drive and Vail Village about 7. In summer, walk or bike the Gore Creek Trail: 1.5 miles to Lionshead or 3 miles to Vail Village.
Flying in? Eagle County Regional Airport is about 30 minutes away and Denver International about 2 hours.
Q: Does the Vail home have a hot tub?
A:
No hot tub, but there are three gas fireplaces and a propane fire pit on the deck for s'mores under the stars.
Q: Is the Vail home pet friendly?
A:
Yes. Up to 2 dogs of any size are welcome with a $500 non-refundable pet fee. There's no fenced yard, but Donovan Park, a great place to bring your pooch, is a block away. Just 5 minutes west on Frontage Road is Stephens Park, an off-leash dog park and pet wonderland with a canine-friendly swimmable stream and lots of grass. We love pets. We have too many of them.
Q: Where do we park, and where do the skis go?
A:
There's a driveway plus a heated two-car garage on the top level, so skis and boots stay warm overnight. The mudroom at the top of the stairs is the place to drop your gear.
Q: What are the check-in, check-out and minimum stay?
A:
Check-in is 4 PM and check-out is 10 AM.
We prefer a 5-night minimum from December 21 to March 30, but call us to discuss. We're flexible. The rest of the year, the minimum is 3 nights.

Monthly stays get 10% off the total. Direct bookings carry a $2,500 security deposit, paid 2 days before check-in and refunded 2 days after check-out.
